ANN BRACKEN, OWNER
|
Ann Bracken, owner of The Possibility Project, understands transition and what it means to you as a woman. Divorce, job loss, an empty nest, retirement... these watershed moments can mean excruciating pain... and can lead to incredible growth and success. As your life coach, Ann shows you how to turn pain into healing, stagnation into growth, and confusion into self-discovery.
Of course, Ann wasn’t born a life coach. Her long career path — more than 30 years in education, linguistics, writing, and small business development — has provided a solid foundation for the evolution of her programs.

She’s certified in special education, poetry therapy, and journal facilitation.
Ann's in-depth studies of how the brain benefits from the expressive arts (creative writing, art, music, drama, and poetry, and other forms of personal expression) led her to develop The Three Pillars of Hope©, an original program for women in transition. Ann's natural talent for teaching, coupled with her expertise in brain learning theory, make her uniquely qualified as a life coach. In short, Ann knows how to survive change — and can teach you how to do it, too.
Ann’s experience in education ranges from work as a speech pathologist in schools to work with troubled adolescents in a psychiatric facility. She has taught English and reading in high school and reading strategies, composition, and professional writing at the college level.
Ann’s conference presentations include presentations on journaling for problem solving at Mindcamp Creativity Conference, Florida Creativity Conference, The Maryland Writers’ Association, and the Global Technology and Business Association. In addition, she has presented poetry workshops at Howard Community College, The World Bank, Charlestown Retirement Community, and a variety of schools throughout Maryland.
Ann’s original poetry has appeared in The Little Patuxent Review, Life in Me Like Grass on Fire Anthology, and Praxilla. In addition, her interviews with several renowned poets — Edward Hirsch, David Read Johnson, and Michael Collier — have appeared in "The Museletter," a publication of the National Association for Poetry Therapy. She has also published a personal essay and poetry in The Little Patuxent Review and the Baltimore Chronicle. Her series on women in transition recently appeared in On Purpose Woman magazine.
